Winter Film Festival: All the President's Men

We are looking forward to the Friends' sponsored Winter Film Series to be held at the Salt Pond Visitor Center. This year’s films honor the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. As campaigning for the 1972 presidential elections takes place, Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward covers a seemingly minor break-in at the Democratic Party National headquarters at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. When he attends an arraignment of the alleged burglars, he discovers that top lawyers are already on the defense case. Woodward then discovers ties between the burglars, the attorneys and the committee to re-elect President Richard Nixon. Washington Post Editor Ben Bradley assigns reporter Carl Bernstein to the story and the pair ultimately uncover a trail of evidence leading to President Nixon. The result of the scandal was the first and only  resignation of an American president. The film (1976) stars the late Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. Rated PG (2h 18m)
