Description
Join rangers to catch and observe the tiny creatures of the New River creeks. All ages welcome. Life jackets provided, please wear shoes and clothes that can get wet.
Meet at the Southside Junction Parking Area across the river from Thurmond.
Coming from Beckley on Route 19 turn right at the Glen Jean traffic light. Turn left onto 16 N/61 N. Turn right onto Scarbro Rd. Turn Left onto Mckell (before Glen Jean bank) Turn left onto Thurmond Rd. Continue straight for about 5 miles toward Thurmond. After you pass Thurmond sign and bridge, park in teh dirt parking lot at the road intersection.
