A Day in the Life: Working on the Allegheny Portage Railroad
Costumed interpreters perform the tasks that made the Allegheny Portage Railroad function. Programs include: stonecutting, log hewing, rope making, clothing, historic toys and games, and more! Programs vary on a daily basis, so inquire at the Visitor Center to see which programs are being offered the day of your visit. These programs usually require a little help from the younger visitors in the group!
These programs are generally held from 10:00 am-12:00 pm in the mornings and from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm in the afternoons. These programs are weather and staff dependent!
