Hike round trip distance: 2.5 miles

Moderate difficulty

This guided hike is led by the Protectors of Tule Springs, our official Friends Group. This hike visits a paleontological dig site that was excavated in 2011, which unearthed one of the largest concentrations of fossils from a single site at Tule Springs! More than 500 fossils were collected from this "Super Quarry" in over a year, including a family of three mammoths, and the longest mammoth tusk found to date on the monument (11 feet).
