Description

Come out and join us for Glen Canyons' Love Your Lake - Litter Pick-up service event on National Public Lands Day! National Public Lands Day is a 'Fee Free Day' at National Park Sites Nationwide, dedicated to the care and celebration of our public lands. It is now the largest single-day volunteer event for public lands in the Nation.

Volunteer-in-Park stewards (VIPs) will meet at the Wahweap marina picnic area in Page, AZ - at 7:30 am on Saturday, September 28. Time for final VIP sign-ups and location assignments will be from 7:30-8:00 am. VIP's will also be equipped with litter clean-up supplies, trash bags and PPE at this time. At 8:00 am, VIP groups will follow their site supervisor to their assigned work location to begin the clean-up. Clean-up is planned to last 3-3.5 hours - wrapping up by 11:30 am. Site supervisors will ensure clean-up is finished and VIP's are back at the picnic area, with their bags of trash to weigh, by 12:00pm.

After the Litter Clean-up Event, VIP's are encouraged to stick around for the Volunteer Appreciation portion of the event - each VIP who participated in the clean-up will receive a small appreciation item and lunch. During lunch we'll highlight some of the spectacular work done by our recurring VIPs and Volunteer Groups this year, as well as hold a raffle for some neat prizes-courtesy of our partner Glen Canyon Conservancy. Glen Canyon Conservancy is incredibly grateful for the generous lunch donation provided by our partners at Aramark. Their support ensures this volunteer appreciation event is a continued success.

Hope to see you there!
