A lighthouse keeper looks into a wood-framed mirror

Stories of the Light: Between Tide and Tower

Point Reyes National Seashore

  • Every week on Sunday at 1:30 PM from June 07, 2026 to June 28, 2026
  • Free
Step back in time with a National Park Service interpretive ranger dressed in historic lighthouse keeper attire as you explore the legacy of the Point Reyes Lighthouse. From the Lighthouse Observation Deck, you’ll journey through tales both luminous and shadowed—stories of isolation, ingenuity, family life, and the relentless power of the sea.

Looking out over the vast ocean landscape at the edge-of-the-earth, you’ll see where natural forces meet human determination. Discover how this remote outpost shaped the lives of its keepers, and how their experiences continue to illuminate who we are today. This program blends history, place-based storytelling, and breathtaking scenery for visitors seeking a deeper understanding of Point Reyes’ maritime heritage.

Drop-in anytime between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. Programs are approximately 15 minutes long and occur on a rolling basis. Make sure to bring layers, as weather at the Point Reyes Lighthouse can be variable and change quickly.

The Lighthouse Observation Deck is ADA accessible.
