Biodiversity for Neurodiversity
Just like human minds, the natural world displays a beautiful amount of diversity that makes for
interesting discussion and meaningful engagement with the harmonious life around us. This hike
invites community members to learn about the biodiversity of the monument and contribute their
own knowledge to a judgement-free discussion group. This event aims to be sensory-friendly for neurodivergent individuals.
All topics pertaining to the monument are welcome for discussion, including zoology, geology,
paleontology, botany, and history. Participants are encouraged to take their time identifying and
appreciating natural elements.
Participants should bring plenty of water, sun protection, comfortable hiking shoes, snacks,
weather-appropriate clothing, and binoculars. There will be a limited number of binoculars to
borrow for participants without a personal pair.
Bring your mind, maybe a buddy, and enjoy the biodiversity of our beautiful desert biome.
