Description
As we approach Winter Solstice, the days continue to get shorter and shorter. December 21st will be the shortest day and the longest night. Then, the Sun will start its return to the northern part of the sky, making the days longer and longer. Did the Chacoans watch this phenomenon and await the Sun's return? Perhaps.
Join Park Astronomers for the Winter Solstice sunrise alignment at Kin Kletso. The first 100 visitors will be allowed past the gate to witness this event. Gates will open at 6:30am. Cars will line up at the gate, which is next to the Visitor Center. Following the event, coffee and refreshments will be available at the Visitor Center.
