"Black History in the Chesapeake Bay"

A salute to one of the oldest African American yachting and boating clubs in the United States.

 

Meet the Black Captains of Annapolis for the City of Annapolis Independence Day Celebration!

 

Join us virtually or in person at the Seafarers Yacht Club, 301 Chester Ave, Annapolis, MD 21403.

Attendees will receive free ticket vouchers to tour the Tall Ships at Annapols City Dock, July 3-5, 2021.

Sign language interpretation will be provided.

Seafarers Yacht Club of Annapolis is a private yacht club based in Annapolis, Maryland, that has been in operation since 1959. Come experience the exceptional Seafarers camaraderie and passion for boating. Learn More about their cruise schedule, social activities, and community-focused initiatives. Youth are encouraged to learn about special programs, scholarships, and activities. 

 

The Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation documents the stories of the African-Americans who have worked and continue to work in the maritime and seafood processing industries in the Chesapeake Bay region as an integral part of this area's rich culture and heritage. The foundation serves the community with a broad range of historical, cultural and educational activities.
