Description
Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with Hopewell Culture National Historical Park. Join us as we welcome Susan Coterel Goldsberry, an author of children’s books and a member of the Cherokee Nation. Susan has always felt a strong connection to the values of the Native Americans, especially with their kindred spirit of respect for nature. The Hart Family Adventure Series is Susan’s effort to help parents pass these invaluable beliefs onto their children, as they were given to her. Susan lives in southern Ohio, which is also the setting for the stories in her books.
Susan will be sharing her books on two separate Saturday events at the Mound City Group Visitor Center, November 9 and 23. The storytelling session will be followed by a ranger-led Junior Ranger activity. This event is free and sponsored by the Friends of Hopewell Culture National Historical Park and is suitable for children of all ages. Registration is not required but parents/guardians must stay with their child.
Hopewell Culture National Historical Park’s, Mound City Group visitor center is located at 16062 State Route 104, Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601. If you have any questions or would like more information please call (740) 774-1126 or visit www.nps.gov/hocu.
