Civil War Infantry Demonstrations
Interested in learning about the American Civil War in Charleston? From the first engagement of the war, the Confederate bombardment of Union-held Fort Sumter from April 12-13, 1861, to later campaigns in 1862 and 1863 in which the US Army tried and failed to dislodge Confederate defenders, Charleston played a key role in the American Civil War.
Park staff and volunteers in period clothing will drill and fire reproduction muskets. Learn how Civil War soliders loaded and fired these weapons.
Fees
Regular site entrance fees apply and can be paid in the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center.
