Description

Join the National Park Service and a local avian expert on a two hour walk and educational program exploring the natural side of Sullivan’s Island. The walk will take place on Saturday, June 1, at 8:00 am. Bird watchers have long appreciated the diverse environment of Sullivan’s Island. Year round residents such as song birds and raptors are regularly joined by a variety of migratory wading birds. The area of exploration will concentrate on the maritime forest and beach between the lighthouse and Fort Moultrie.

Participants should meet at the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center. Be sure to bring to bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, and bird watching binoculars. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
