Description

Russell Cave is hosting a dry riverbed clean-up day!  Come out from 10AM CT to 12PM CT to help rangers clean up the dry creek bed that leads into the mouth of the cave shelter.  With thousands of acres feeding into this waterway, trash and large debris can find their way into our cave with each major rain event.  By cleaning up the debris, we can limit the amount of trash entering the cave and extending waterways.

Bags, trash grabbers, and gloves will be provided.  Please bring closed toe shoes, long pants, plenty of water, and sunscreen.

This event will be rescheduled if it is cancelled due to poor weather.

Established in 1994 and held annually on the fourth Saturday in September, National Public Lands Day is traditionally the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort. It celebrates the connection between people and green space in their community, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages use of open space for education, recreation, and health benefits.
