Description
Situated at the summit of southern Utah's Grand Staircase, Cedar Breaks is a unique geologic classroom. The annual Geology Festival offers special programs and opportunities to learn from an active and dynamic landscape.
Rock Formations I Spy: Visitor Center 9 AM - 5 PM. Pick up an "I Spy" sheet, fill it out and get a prize!
Past Landscapes of Cedar Breaks: Visitor Center 9 AM - 5 PM. Visit the back porch to see how Cedar Breaks looked millions of years ago!
Daily Geology Walks: South Rim Trail, 10 AM and 2 PM. Alpine Pond Loop, 10:30 AM and 4 PM.
Paleontology Booth: North View Overlook 10 AM - 5 PM. Talk to a paleontologist and learn about fossils and the ancient life of Cedar Breaks!
Rock and Mineral Identification: North View Overlook 10 AM - 5 PM. Learn basic identification techniques and challenge yourself to identify common rocks from Cedar Breaks!
