Elder Ballou Cemetery and Cumberlandite Tour

Explore a historic cemetery and learn about a unique geological feature in Rhode Island! During this free program, geologist Mark Dennen will lead visitors to an outcropping of Cumberlandite, the state rock of Rhode Island. Park Ranger Allison Horrocks will offer a tour of the cemetery. Learn about the people who have called that corner of Cumberland home and the rock that makes this area special. This tour is free, but all participants must register in advance.
Meet in front of the Elder Ballou Cemetery. Please exercise caution when parking. This program will be approximately 1 mile of walking on uneven terrain.

Location
Elder Ballou Meeting House Road, Cumblerland, Rhode Island. Small parking lot is available on the left side of road if entering from W. Wrentham Road. Street parking is also okay on the right side of the road if entering from W. Wrentham Road.
