Join Park Ranger Jerry Hightower for this fun filled spring afternoon program of discovery and adventure. Sibley Pond is a spring fed community of amazing creatures that live in the calm water of the pond. While turtles, tadpoles, minnows, and sizable fish are readily seen by even the casual observer, we will look in the leaf litter that Ranger Jerry will net from the edge of the pond to discover the fantastic array of awesome insects, crustaceans, and other invertebrates that make the pond their habitat. Stand aside “Star Wars” and move over “Fantastic Beasts” because we will find some far out looking organisms on our discovery adventure. We will give you the opportunity to use the full size or the small child size nets to see what you might be able to find, observe, and carefully release back into the safety of the pond. This is a very casual and informal discovery adventure and you are invited to come and go as interest and attention dictates.

You will be able to read an illustrated story book on the StoryWalk that will be placed around the pond.

Please remember to wear comfortable outdoor clothes. Dress for the weather and dressing in layers is advisable to allow you to adjust to any temperature changes. Water and high energy snacks are a good idea.
