Alice Dunbar-Nelson is mainly remembered for her marriage to Paul Laurence Dunbar. She was active in the suffragist movement, Harlem Renaissance, and civil rights. Alice lived a colorful life having several relationships with men and women while supporting her family. She lived a full life beyond Dunbar as an educator, writer, journalist, and activist.

Join us at the Paul Laurence Dunbar House Visitor Center at 11am on July 20th to learn about the life of Alice Dunbar-Nelson.
