On August 25, 2024, the National Park Service marks its 108th birthday! To celebrate, the Chesapeake National Historic Trail is throwing a birthday party at James City County Marina!

The James City County Marina provides access to the James River portion of the Chesapeake Trail via Powhatan Creek. Come on out to this birthday celebration, where you can…

• Take a train ride on the Kiwanis Kids Train
• Enter a chance drawing to win Chesapeake Trail-themed prizes (Takes place at noon!)
• Stamp your park passport with four unique stamps
• Visit informational tents from the Chesapeake National
Historic Trail, Colonial National Historical Park and James River Association
• Learn about the history of the James River from park rangers and participate in hands-on crafts
• Rent a canoe, kayak or paddle board and explore Powhatan Creek
• Receive a free national park pass for active-duty service members, veterans, gold star family members and individuals with disabilities
