Description

The Battle of Stones River began on the morning of December 31, 1862, and raged through the day until sunset. The fighting engulfed nearly every one of the 81,000 soldiers as the momentum of the fighting swung from an early Confederate advantage to a conclusion that saw United States forces poised for victory.
 
Join us for programs that feature cannons and muskets firing and explore some if the key moments that led to one of the most important Union victories of the war. All programs will take place in the fields adjacent to the park visitor center.
