Special Event
The Frederick Douglass National Historic Site will reopen to the public on Tuesday, July 4. There will be an opening ceremony at 11:00 am with a ribbon-cutting, music and dramatic portrayal of Mr. Douglass.
Following the ceremony, the site will be open for first floor walk-throughs from 12:30 - 3:00 pm and there will be music by DC Strings. Standard ranger-led tours will be offered 3-5 pm with timed tickets available at the event.
Starting July 5, the home will be open for timed-entry tours Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 9 am – 5 pm Advance tickets are strongly encouraged and can be made on Recreation.gov
