Description

Join us and the Friends of Fort Vancouver for Kindred Spirits: An Artistic Journey of Lillian Pitt.

Ms. Pitt is an internationally-acclaimed Native American artist and this show will feature several of her exceptional works in glass and bronze artworks, clay masks and statuary, tiles, and jewelry as a naturally wearable art. Lillian Pitt is the artist who designed the “Welcome Gate” on the Land Bridge on this Site.

Lillian Pitt’s Native American heritage is traced to the “River People” of the Columbia River. Her tribal affiliations are Warm Springs, Wasco and Yakama with a dash of Hawaiian, too. Her works reflect the “voice of over 10,000 years of history along the Big River.”

Ms. Pitt is one of the featured contemporary artists in a film documentary recently released to PBS stations NATIVE ART NOW!

She will introduce the film twice during this show on Saturday, November 3, at 11:00 A.M. and at 2 P.M.  This is a first showing of the film in the Pacific Northwest.

Admission is free.
