About Night Museum

From 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., the National Prisoner of War Museum will be open for an annual nighttime opportunity to view the museum exhibits and experience the prison site. Night Museum kicks of our first program in observance of the 160th anniversary of Andersonville Prison.

This event provides a unqiue opportunity for visitos to experience the prison site and museum after dark.

At the National Prisoner of War Museum, the exhibits, museum and bookstore will be open.

We will have living historians portraying Union prisoners and Confederate guards. We also invite you to complete our scavenger hunt in order to earn a special 160th patch!

During this nighttime event the prison site tour road and the Andersonville National Cemetery will be closedWe advise visitors to bring flashlights for use while outside.

We hope you join us as we remember the Civil War's most notorious prison.
