Learn of the intense land-naval engagement between the heavily-fortified Cumberland River artillery batteries and armored gunboats, How did the exchange of hundreds of shells led to the description, “the exchange of iron valentines?”  What resulted from the events of Forts Henry and Donelson?

Bring your loved one and spend your Valentines Day at Fort Donelson NB!   Former Park Historian Jim Jobe and park rangers will be standing at the same strategic location of Confederate artillery, looking at the same view down river as the Confederates of 1862.
