Description
The fall season in San Antonio brings nice cool weather, for both bikers and monarch butterflies! Join us on Sunday, October 27 at Mission San Juan for a bike ride to the San Juan Dam, then back to Mission San Juan. Ride begins at 10 am. Learn about pollinators and native plants at two prairie restoration stops along the way. We'll be looking for butterflies, caterpillars, bees, and other pollinators throughout the ride. The ride begins and ends at Mission San Juan. This program is free and open to the public. This bike ride will be approximately 1.5 hours long, for a total distance of 6 miles. We will make several stops along the way. Participants must be comfortable with biking on pavement and gravel. Have your own bike? Bring your own bike and helmet to join the ride for free! Bike rentals will be available for $8 ($5 off regular rate) through San Antonio Bike Share. Free helmet rental provided with each bike rental. Reserve your bike now at: https://www.sanantoniobikeshare.org/pedal-for-pollinators.html. Helmets are required; those not renting through San Antonio Bike Share must bring their own helmets to participate. Helmet rentals will be provided for free with every advance San Antonio Bike Share rental.
