Description
Join Natchez Trace rangers at the on December 14 at 7 am for a special sunrise program on birding, including some tips on how to photograph birds! This event will be held at the Chickasaw Village site (Milepost 261.8) and is part of the Audubon Christmas Bird Count, an early-winter bird census that has been running for over 120 years.
Thousands of volunteers across the U.S., Canada, and many other countries collect data on bird observations in their designated area, which are in turn used by conservation biologists, wildlife agencies, and others to study the long-term health and status of bird populations across the Western Hemisphere.
As an added bonus, this program will feature a short program about birds found along the Natchez Trace, along with some photography tips for those shutterbugs amongst us.
