Description

Ranger-led Night Sky Program - Dark Sky Star Hopping and Telescope Viewing from Lilly Bluff

Join our ranger to enjoy the spectacular dark sky conditions in the park over Lilly Bluff on July 28th at 9:00 p.m. (ET).  Weather permitting, truly dark conditions are expected as the Moon will not be in the sky until later that night; which presents an optimal opportunity to observe the bright stars, star clusters, and constellations of the summer stargazing season.

This event is subject to favorable clear sky weather conditions.  In the event of incluement weather or cloud cover, the event will be cancelled.  Be sure to call the Obed Visitor Center before 5 p.m. on the day of the event to confirm the status of the event.  Amateur astronomers are also invited to bring their telescopes to join our program and may contact the visitor center for more information.
