Description

On Saturday, April 25, at 2 PM, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park ask that you join a park ranger for a 45-minute presentation about the stories from the letters and diaries of the men of Col. Charles C. Starkweather’s Brigade. The battle of Chickamauga was a nightmare beyond description for those who experienced it, though some would try. Some would do so in their own personal diaries, and others in letters home to loved ones or the hometown newspaper.

The men of Colonel Starkweather’s brigade left behind a rich trove of accounts and this program will present some of them on the very ground where they unfolded. Some tragic, some horrific, and some inspirational.
