Walk will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. Please arrive 15 minutes early in order to find parking and check-in.


Description

Join renowned geologists Emmett Evanoff and James Swinehart on a hike through the layers of geologic time at Scotts Bluff National Monument! Learn how the bluffs were formed over 30 million years ago and where to find evidence of volcanic activity as you walk along the Saddle Rock Trail. Space is limited, register in advance by contacting Kayla Gasker at kayla_gasker@nps.gov or (308) 436-9701.

Walk will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. Dress for the weather with sturdy shoes and bring water. In the event of severe weather, an indoor program will take place at the Midwest Theater.

Program is free, however, in order to gauge attendance, please register by emailing kayla_gasker@nps.gov and include the number of attendees and contact information. Walk-ins welcome.
