It is the evening of June 25, 1740. The British arrived two weeks ago and have been bombarding St. Augustine for several days. There has been no loss of life or property, but the psychological impact is severe. There is real danger that the town will run out of provisions. The Spanish desperately need a victory.

Join the staff & volunteers of Castillo de San Marcos National Monument for living history tours that highlight the siege of 1740. Experience the evening before the counterattack by the Spanish on Fort Mose, where British soldiers are encamped. Learn about the Spanish perspective of life in the town during the siege as cannons fire away from the top of the gundeck of the Castillo.
