Description

Join an interpretive volunteer at the King Canyon Trailhead for a 3-hour, 3-mile loop hike. During this hike, you will learn about the Hohokam peoples and the petroglyphs they created, explore the mining activities within the park boundaries, including the Gould Mine, and visit projects completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Additionally, you will discover a variety of desert plants along the way. This moderate hike involves an elevation gain of 400 feet. Participants are advised to carry at least one liter of water, a salty snack, and hiking poles are encouraged. The hike is limited to 10 people, and signup is required.
