Prairie Acadian Cultural Center - Chitimacha Bookmark Making

Southern Louisiana had seen countless handy craft traditions over the years, the earliest coming from Native tribes such as the Chitimacha.

Chitimacha weaving traditions have created beautiful and distinct designs that can still be found today. Come enjoy this activity inspired by some of the tradition designs found in Chitimacha basketry.
