Activities are accessible from the Artillery Park parking lot, and spread out along the unpaved Baptist Trace Road trail (gravel and packed-dirt surface). All activities are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

A day of activities and programs at Artillery Park (tour stop 7) commemorating the day the Continental Army left Valley Forge in June 1778. All activities are weather-dependent.

Any Day Now — 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM
Join a ranger dressed in 18th century clothing to learn about the experiences of common soldiers as they prepared to leave the Valley Forge encampment in late spring of 1778.
Transporting Medical Supplies — 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM
Learn about the work of doctors and nurses at Valley Forge, and how medicines and other tools of
the profession were transported when the army marched away.
Followers of the Army — 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM
Not everyone who camped at Valley Forge was a soldier in the Continental Army. Learn more about the hundreds of women and children at the encampment and how they supported the army.
Ned Hector and the History of Black Soldiers in the Revolutionary War — 10 AM to 12 PM
Join reenactor Noah Lewis to learn about the contributions and sacrifices of Black soldiers in the
American Revolutionary War. Noah Lewis is an expert on the history and life of Ned Hector, an 18th century Black iron worker, teamster, and artilleryman local to the Valley Forge area.
Manual Exercise and Black Powder Demonstrations — 11 AM & 2 PM
On two occasions during the day, a park ranger wearing the Continental Army uniform will
demonstrate a black powder musket firing near the cannons at Artillery Park, weather permitting.
The March to Monmouth — 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM
Learn about the challenges faced by the American and British forces as they marched out of their
winter encampments into New Jersey, and clashed nine days later at the Battle of Monmouth.
