Description

It all starts with the farm... From the people that made Hampton what it was to the physical location of where the Ridgely's started through where they ended up a few hundred years later.

Hampton was, first and foremost, a plantation. This tour explores the farm side of Hampton and the role it played in plantation life.  Park Rangers will guide visitors around the grounds of Hampton's farm buildings and give voice to the enslaved African Americans and European indentured servants who made the Ridgelys' lavish lifestyle possible.
