Park Prescription (Rx) Day
Give yourself the gift of better health with a visit to the park. Park Rx Day is founded on the idea that parks can be gateways to good health-providing fun, accessible places to ger some physical activity and to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Activities to get you moving outside will be offered.

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m B.A.R.K Ranger Contact Station
B-Bag your pet's waste.
A-Always leash your pet.

K-Know where you can go.
Give your dog the best treat and go for a walk in your favorite national park. Stop by the B.A.R.K Ranger tent to learn the B.A.R.K Ranger rules then walk the Carver trail. At the conclusion of the walk, your furry friend will be sworn in as a B.A.R.K Ranger!
10:00 a.m. Guided tour on the Carver Trail
Get your heart pumping on this 3/4-mile ranger-led walk to learn about the life of George Washington Carver and the park. During the walk, there will be a discussion about Professor Carver's Agriculture Bulletins and how they helped improved the lives of farmers in the South.
11:00 a.m. Yoga in the Park
A certified yoga instructor from Four States Yoga (Joplin, Missouri) will lead participants through a ‘gentle flow’ outdoor yoga class focused on building strength and increasing flexibility.
12:00 Noon Tai Chi for Beginners
A local tai chi instructor will lead a beginner’s session of this ancient Chinese tradition. Tai Chi is practiced today as a graceful form of exercise. It involved a series of movements performed in a slow manner with deep breathing.
