National Public Lands Day: Beach Cleanup at the Seashore
Join us for a Beach Cleanup at Cape Lookout! Celebrate National Public Lands Day with a morning of service on Saturday, September 27, 2025!
Cape Lookout National Seashore is hosting a beach cleanup on the lighthouse beach—and we need your help! Transportation is provided via Island Express Ferry Service from Harkers Island.
Schedule: – 8:30–9:00 AM: Meet at Harkers Island Visitor Center for safety briefing & paperwork
9:15 AM: Ferry to Cape Lookout Lighthouse
9:30–12:30 PM: Beach cleanup
Volunteers are able to choose their return ferry.
Spots are limited! Call 252-728-2250 to register and secure your place. Let’s leave the beach better than we found it.
