THE KING OF BATTLE: CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY DRILL AND THE BATTLE OF MILL SPRINGS!
How many soldiers does it take to fire a cannon? Teamwork, of cours!
Come to Mill Springs Battlefield NM to see how this Civil War detachment fires a cannon and listen to firsthand accounts from letters of the men who experienced the Battle of Mill Springs. The Battle of Mill Springs had a profound effect on the outcome of the American Civil War.
Our volunteers will be dressed out in Civil War uniforms, training on the cannon, and discuss the soldier's own experiences in the artillery here during the battle.
Firing demonstrations are at 11:00AM, 1:00PM, 2:00PM.
