Description

Have you passed the odd triangular brown and white metal signs around Lenoir, North Carolina? Have you seen these same signs at Fort Defiance and wondered what do they mean? Let's find out!

Join Ranger William from the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail to learn not only about the American Revolution, but how this story from 1780 inspired the creation of a National Historic Trail!
William will share more about the National Trail System and what it means for Fort Defiance and Lenoir, NC to have one of these National Historic Trails passing through town; all marked by these strange brown and white signs!

This is a free "Lunch & Learn" program hosted by Fort Defiance at their picnic shelter at 12:00pm. Bring snacks, a lunch, and your curiosity to learn all about it!
