Description

Nine species of bats call New Jersey home and many can be seen flying around your neighborhood at dusk.  Come join staff from the Rutgers Wildlife Conservation and Management Program to learn about the unique ecology of bats and watch them hunt insects using echolocation as the light fades.  Discover how to use handheld acoustic detectors that can identify which bat species are flying nearby!  Activities will occur on the lawn near the Wick Farm.  As it gets dark, we will take a walk around the Wick Orchard and adjacent trails to search for bats.  All ages are welcome.

Please bring a headlamp or flashlight and wear good walking shoes. Event is rain or shine.
