Description
Bring the family out for a movie night at the El Malpais Visitor Center!
Explore one way in which the lands of New Mexico have been used, as we view a movie that was filmed in this area, "Ace in the Hole", starring Kirk Douglas in 1951.
This collaboration between El Malpais National Monument and the Cibola Arts Council will include viewing the film, followed by a discussion of the themes of the film, such as land use and the near by locations that can be identified. The discussion will be led by guest speaker, Don Gray from the New Mexico Film Office.
Don’s career has involved Location Management & Scouting for film and television as well as teaching film production and scouting domestically and internationally. Don is also a filmmaker whose films have played in film festivals worldwide. He is currently the Contract Locations Coordinator for the New Mexico Film Office.
We look forward to seeing you there!
