Description
In honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day, Chaco will be hosting guest speaker Shawn Price. Shawn will be presenting a lecture about William Tecumseh Sherman. He will briefly highlight Sherman's early life and known Civil War exploits, then focus on Sherman's role with the Peace Commission of 1867-68. This commission established seven Tribal Accords, including the Navajo Treaty of June 1, 1868. These Nation-to-Nation agreements are legally profound to this day. This lecture will take place in the visitor center auditorium.
