Description

Celebrate life on the Chesapeake at the Yorktown Seafood Festival! In the morning, enjoy the fare at the Yorktown Farmer's Market. Then join the Watermen's Museum for music and storytelling. Inside the museum, view exhibts and the work of artisans that demonstrate the role of watermen in shaping our nation's history!

The Chesapeake National Historical Trail will be tabling at the event. Talk with a park ranger about the importance of seafood in historic communities, from the Native American peoples of Kiskiack - what is now Yorktown! - to the English colonists who came to these shores in 1607. You can even try your hand at net-making, a traditional craft found accross cultures fundamental to the maritime lifestyle.

Join us to learn about America the Beautiful park passes, the junior ranger program, and the myriad opportunities for fun and education along the trail.
