Description
Join a park ranger on a guided hike to explore and examine the history of the Deer Point Naval Live Oak Plantation and how the live oak tree once helped—and continues to help—defend the nation's shores. The hike will be conducted along the .8 mile loop Brackenridge Trail. This mostly shaded trail includes both boardwalk and dirt paths and involves moderate inclines. Closed-toe walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen/bug spray, water, and snacks are recommended. Meet in front of Park Headquarters.
