Utah Prairie Dog Day
Classrooms are eligible for a fee waiver.
Come help us celebrate a keystone species and Utah's only endemic mammal, the Utah Prairie Dog! There will be children's activities, a prairie dog watching event, and more!
On the Visitor Center Plaza we will have booths from various public lands management agencies involved in Utah Prairie Dog protection, a Prairie Dog calling contest (with a prize!), and other family-friendly activities. We will also host prairie dog observation and a keynote program that afternoon.
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Family-friendly activity booths in the plaza outside of the Visitor Center, and Utah Prairie Dog viewing table at edge of Visitor Center parking lot
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Family-friendly activity booths in the plaza outside of the Visitor Center, and Utah Prairie Dog viewing table at edge of Visitor Center parking lot
1:30 p.m. Utah Prairie Dog calling contest and art contest winners announced in Visitor Center plaza.
4:30 p.m. David Eads, an ecologist with the U.S. Geologic Survey presents on prairie dogs in the Bryce Canyon Lodge Auditorium.
