Description
1918 saw the end of the First World War, the deadly influenza epidemic, the erosion of civil liberties, and the Centennial of the State of Illinois. See how Pullman residents and employees fared during this terrible and turbulent year.
We will examine contemporary records and articles to try and understand what Pullman-- and by extension, the United States -- was experiencing. We will also visit the official opera written expressly for the Centennial starring none other than Florence Pullman Lowden.
Join the Historic Pullman Foundation and Pullman resident, Andy Bullen, for an exploration of the town of Pullman in 1918.
