Badlands & Bridles: Public Lands Horse Use and Management
Badlands & Bridles: Public Lands Horse Use and Management on July 2–3, 2026, a two‑day public program highlighting the history, science, management of horses on America’s public lands. The event will take place at Peaceful Valley Ranch from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days and will feature a full schedule of presentations, live demonstrations, and educational activities for visitors of all ages. the Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse and Burro Program 250th Anniversary ambassadors, Freedom the wild horse and Liberty the wild burro learn about their training and care and enjoy hands‑on programs. The USDA’s Forest Service Northern Region Pack Train mule team will provide live demonstrations on July 3rd. Horse advocacy groups Wild Lands Wild Horses, North Dakota Badlands Horse, and Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates will be on site both days. National Park Service staff will provide presentations on management of the horses within the park throughout the event.
