From Washerwomen to WACs: Women’s History at Fort Washington
Learn about the history of the US Army from a woman’s perspective during the “From Washerwomen to Women’s Army Corps (WACs)” event at Fort Washington Park. From Washerwomen to WACs begins with a pop-up from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. where guests can interact with Park Rangers and get a firsthand look into what laundry supplies and footlockers used by the WACs looked like during World War II. From 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. guests have the opportunity to go on a guided tour of the historic Fort Washington that will highlight the role of women in Fort Washington’s History.
