Eric Hemenway, an Anishinaabe Historian will give a historical background on fishing methods of the Anishnaabek of Michigan. Including where they fished, types of fish caught, how fish was instrumental in the trade of the tribe and how fishing would eventually be used in legal arguments. The progression of fishing methods through time will be covered, from nets to spearing.

This will also be an excellent opportunity to earn the Jr. Angler Badge! A ranger will be at the program location approximately 20 minutes before the program with Jr. Angler books, pencils, and an activity, prior to the talk.
