This holiday season, enjoy a breath of fresh air while exploring Prairie Hollow Gorge! This hike is located approximately 1/2-mile from the Two Rivers Campground on State Highway V, east of Eminence.

Hikers will have a chance to view the gorge from the top and bottom of the canyon, for a total hiking distance of approximately 1 mile. The gorge provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the geologic history of the Ozarks.

Often called the “Jewel of the Riverways,” this area boasts panoramic views, glimpses of the geological past, and a diversity of flora and fauna. Also called the “Canyon”, the Prairie Hollow Gorge is one of the oldest geological areas in the region and is marked by rhyolite outcroppings and shear bluffs.

Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy hiking boots, carry a water bottle and be prepared for moderately strenuous and rugged hiking conditions.

Fees

This event is free to attend.
