Free. There is no fee to attend the sunrise orientation. However, all visitors entering the Summit District for sunrise must have an advance sunrise reservation ($1) and pay the park entrance fee ($30 per private vehicle).

The sunrise orientation will occur around 15 minutes prior to sunrise, contingent upon conditions.


Description

The sunrise orientation features a brief overview of the summit area, important rules for visiting the park, and the cultural significance of this sacred place. The orientation talk may be followed by an oli, or Hawaiian chant, to welcome the rising sun and the beginning of a new day.
