Celebrate Dr. Carter G. Woodson and Black History Month by harkening back to its origin in 1926 with Negro History Week

When: Saturday, February 7th    from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

Families will learn about American History more deeply by making their own posters and history kits featuring such Black Americans as Benjamin Banneker, Harriett Tubman and others. In addition to this and other hands-on activities, visitors will get to meet and get a selfie with “Dr. Carter G. Woodson” – the creator of the Negro History Week, the forerunner of Black History Month.
